Center for Grieving Children and Families, Peter’s Place, welcomes Stephanie Lim Capello as its new Executive Director
Grief affects all of us at some point in our lives, and 1 in 12 children in Pennsylvania experience the death of a parent or sibling by age 18. Peter’s Place was founded in 2001 to provide family grief support to the Philadelphia area.
On January 17th, Stephanie Lim Capello joined Peter’s Place as its next Executive Director and will lead Peter’s Place into its next phase of growth. She brings tremendous non-profit experience to the role, having served in leadership positions with The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, The Please Touch Museum, and The Philadelphia Zoo. For the last three years, Stephanie has been the Director of Admissions, Marketing and Business Development for ESF Camps & Experiences. Stephanie earned her B.A. from Villanova University and currently serves as Board President of Villanova’s Alumni Association.
“We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to Peter’s Place,” said Board Chair Bill Kiesling. “Her background, leadership style, and ability to engage those around her are just what Peter’s Place needs as it moves into the future. Our goal is to provide safe and supportive environments for grieving children and families in our region, and Stephanie will help us figure out new ways to achieve that mission.”
“I am humbled and proud to be the next Executive Director of Peter’s Place. The organization has a tremendous reputation in the community and has already positively impacted the lives of so many. I am looking forward to working with the team and the Board of Directors to expand the outreach to even more families and to continue the important message of openly talking about grief, sadness, and tragedy, and letting families know that we are here to support them,” said Lim Capello.
