Social Media Intern

Fall and Spring Semesters, Preferred Start Date: September 2024, 15 hours per week, Hybrid

The Organization

Founded in 2001, Peter’s Place is a nonprofit organization committed to providing safe and supportive environments for grieving children and families and to act as a community resource to foster understanding of the effects of death and grief. At its Radnor location, Peter’s Place offers peer support groups for children and their caregivers and for young adults following the death of someone significant in their lives. Peter’s Place also brings support groups to grieving children within their school settings. Groups are facilitated by our professional staff and volunteers who participate in an extensive thirty-hour training program.

The Position

The Social Media Intern supports the Communications Coordinator to develop and implement outreach and promotional campaigns to boost brand awareness and engagement to help fulfil the organization’s mission. The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Work alongside the team to brainstorm and create social media content and campaigns
  • Post on various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Help to create and edit short videos and graphics
  • Ensure branding and messaging is consistent
  • Analyze analytics to measure the success of posts/campaigns
  • Develop new strategies for increasing engagement across all company platforms

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors in College
  • Prefer Communications and/or Marketing Majors (not required)
  • Some experience in social media marketing and content creation
  • Familiarity with content creation software such as Canva and Adobe Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic and strong copywriting skills
  • The following clearances are required:
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearances (CY113)
    • Pennsylvania Criminal Records Checks (SPA-164)
    • Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Checks
